I am a business economist who served as a member of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) from October 2006 until May 2011. In November 2011, I joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) as their Senior Economic Adviser. Before I joined the MPC, I worked for British Airways for nearly nine years, as Chief Economist and Head of Environmental Affairs. I am also a part-time Professor of Sustainable Business at Warwick Business School. Click here to find out more about my career and background, including my time at the LSE, the CBI and London Business School in the 1980s and 1990s. Throughout my career, I have written numerous articles, given many speeches and contributed to the media on a regular basis. You can use this website to find out more about my news and views (including my economics blog - The Hawk Talks!) and to access recent speeches and articles. The Sentance family can be traced back to Grantham in Lincolnshire in the 16th Century and I have also researched some of my other ancestral roots. The family history section of the website provides access to some of this research, and I am always keen to hear from other people who may have common family links. I enjoy playing and listening to music. I play bass and sing in Revelation, a rock band which performs at events in south Essex where I live. We recently held a charity concert in my home village of Horndon-on-the-Hill, raising over £500 for charity. The music pages contain more details of these musical activities and interests, including my music blog - Andy's Music Blog. I hope you find the website interesting and useful.
